Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

Open the Kenvii app, go to Settings, and tap Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm by typing “DELETE MY ACCOUNT.” All your data — profile, location history, Orbits, SOS contacts — is removed within 30 days. You can also email privacy@kenvii.com if you can't access the app.

How do I export my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Export My Data. We'll email you a JSON file containing your profile, location history within your retention window, Orbit memberships, saved places, and SOS alerts. This is rate-limited to one export per 24 hours to prevent abuse.

What is an Orbit?

An Orbit is a group of people you share your location with. Most users have a family Orbit, but you can create Orbits for friends, teammates, travel companions, or anyone else you trust. Each Orbit is independent — members of one Orbit can't see members of another.

How do Privacy Zones work?

Privacy Zones hide your exact location when you're at a designated place like Home or Work. Other members of your Orbit will see a label (“at Home”) instead of a pin on the map. You can set up Privacy Zones in Settings → Places.

What happens when I press SOS?

Pressing SOS sends your current location and an alert to your chosen emergency contacts. Privacy Mode is temporarily overridden so your contacts can find you. When you cancel the SOS, your privacy settings restore automatically. SOS is not a replacement for emergency services — always call 911 (US), 112 (EU/UK), or your local emergency number first.

How do I get Kenvii?

Kenvii is currently in closed beta on both iOS and Android. Access is by invitation only. If you're on our beta list, check your email for a TestFlight invitation (iOS) or a Google Play internal-testing invitation (Android). To join the waitlist for public release, email support@kenvii.com with “waitlist” in the subject line.

Can I use Kenvii without sharing my location?

Yes. You can disable location sharing entirely in Privacy Mode, or use Temporary Sharing to share for a limited window (1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day, or 1 week) and have it stop automatically.

How long is my location history kept?

Free tier: you can view the last 24 hours in the app. Paid tiers (Gold and Platinum) extend this to 7 or 30 days. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

App permissions keep getting denied — how do I fix it?

Kenvii needs location permission (ideally “Always” or “While Using”) and notification permission to work properly. On Android: Settings → Apps → Kenvii → Permissions. Toggle Location to “Allow all the time” and Notifications to on. Also check battery-optimization settings — some phones kill background apps aggressively; add Kenvii to the “don't optimize” list.
